Jackson-Health-Foundation-25.jpg

We at Soho Studios in Miami are proud to announce the upcoming Jackson Health Foundation's Golden Angels 25th Birthday Bash on January 21, 2017! It celebrates 25 years of the Foundation's giving, which supports a variety of health-related causes within the Jackson Health System. This event starts at 7 P.M. and is being presented by the Golden Angels, a group dedicated to fundraising for the Jackson Health Foundation. This event is also known as the Golden Angels Gala. The gala is a fundraiser as well as a festive party, dinner, and evening of entertainment. Suggested ticket prices start at $1,000, which gives the donor a Benefactor Seat. Individual tickets go up to $60,000, which gives a seat at the Golden Angel Pledge/Gala Tables. Tables for 10 are also available for larger donations. The Jackson Health Foundation also has a web page for those who wish to give smaller gifts toward specific Birthday Bash goals without attending the gala.

For those who attend, there is an exciting array of activities that will go on. Dancing is on the agenda, along with dinner and choice of drinks. Every year's event has a different theme to surprise attendees, and you can count on excellent entertainment and multiple bars. One of the highlights is always the recognition of the Foundation's largest donors, who will appear in their finest fashions. This makes this event one of the biggest in the area's social scene.

Every year, there is a different form of memorable entertainment offered. There have been variety shows, carnival acts, and other exciting performances. This year's theme is Miracles Made Daily, but the Foundation is keeping mum about the specifics of the accompanying performances and sets that will be present. You'll just have to attend and see what they've set up for you!

About the Jackson Health Foundation

The Jackson Health Foundation, or JHF, works to raise funds to cover shortfalls in the Jackson Health System's budget left after taxpayer funding and grants have been exhausted. This allows the System to continue to provide its top-notch medical care along with the extras that make patients more comfortable here than they otherwise would be.

The Real Deal 2016 Took over Soho Studios Miami

On October 20, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., The Real Deal presented its Third Annual South Florida Real Estate Forum and Showcase in Miami’s Soho Studios. The Wynwood district, renowned for its high-energy events and diverse panels, was host to major topics, real estate innovation, exhibitors and the promotion of local merchants.

A Mass Exhibitor Collection

The Real Deal is South Florida’s biggest event yet, featuring over 50 exhibitors alongside five expert panels. Both event-goers and industry impactors were welcome, discussing real estate insights, strategies and deals with the market’s biggest forces. Among popular influencers was Venus Williams—who shared her love of marketing design.

The market, itself, has changed quite a bit. The Real Deal’s pop-up crowds, early in the day, were standing-room-only visitors. As the panel spaces developed, however, discussion about the industry arose. Developers discussed the condo market, hospitality leaders took to office sectors and commercial brokers discussed retail’s changing environment. On the event’s other end, residential brokers discussed market slowdowns while financial professionals discussed real estate debt.

All About the Resources

Aside from real estate discussion, The Real Deal prompted a collaboration of lenders and investors. Today’s real estate loans have changed, requiring different priorities and professional approaches to succeed. The event’s real estate professionals were, of course, invited to luxury booths. The Estates of Acquilina, One Sotheby’s International Realty, Paramount Miami Worldcenter and One River Point were all there, and each contributed to the healthy network of borrowing and discussion.

As many professional attendees discussed, the event’s networking was its core. Bustling solution booths offered virtual reality goggles, and new developments were shared with patrons in real-time extravaganzas. Every project, having received a careful touch, served to cast away the market’s growing uncertainty. While the Real Deal served to promote real estate discourse—even health—the event’s heart existed as a safe place for many like-minded professionals.

A Twist on Modern Discussion

The global market’s uncertainty is deserving of new construction designs, plans and innovations. Because of its lacking velocity, real estate may reveal dangerous waters for some. Developers attending the event were urged to wait—discussing land options before new projects were launched.

The Real Deal’s event, while a marketing one in its core, subverted the age-old “come and talk” vibe most leading impactors promote. Discussion, trade opportunities and celebration permeated the Real Deal’s event environment. At the end of the day: It isn’t a bad thing at all.

Edible Graffiti in Wynwood

It isn’t often art and food are mixed so intimately. Sara Myers’ cooking series, titled “Sprouted Chef,” returned on Monday, September 21, with an unbelievable approach to Wynwood’s already delectable art scene.

A Nontraditional Art Display

Experiential marketing efforts are constantly changing, but they’re still available to time-tested-and-true eye openers. Monday’s artistic iteration was a selection of edible masterpieces created from savory vegetable purées. Each event-goer was handed “canvas” plates—to be used for color mixing, pattern creation, texture guessing and, yes, tasting.

Each recipe, Sarah Myers revealed, was a concoction of fennel, beets, sweet potatoes, roasted red peppers, curried cauliflower, garlic spinach, carrot harissa and cashew cauliflower. Purple potatoes made an appearance, too, to spice up the color pallet. Attendees were given the option to add their own, hand-selected entree spices and sides, too, ranging across nuts, vegetables, flowers and shaved ribbons.

The Flavor Profile Creation

Primarily, Myers aimed to create a fully interactive class for participants to expand their creative horizons. By tying food and graffiti together, she was capable of ensuring the artist’s overall perspective was preserved while keeping things spicy all day. While attendees needn’t be color masters, art connoisseurs or even massively creative, the food aspect tied most together to bring visual pieces of art to life.

Collaboration wasn’t out of the cards, either. Artist Pedro Amos arrived to assist the classes. Pedro, himself, was Wynyard’s very own graffiti artist—one who’d previously painted its Orlando mural. The two hit it off, furthering the artistic allure of Wynyard. Because collaboration was more than expected, the dynamic duo succeeded in creating a truly organic event.

Combining Marketing Experiences

Sure, old dogs can’t learn new tricks. The combination of two marketing powerhouses—food and art—is, however, an entirely different beast. The Wynwood way has continuously facilitated the relationship between art and South Florida food, and Myers’ hotplate approach and homage to the historically Art-Deco-dominated area is refreshing. Where self-promotion is considered, Myers couldn’t have hit the nail squarer on the head. Her iteration of public taste tests, representation of versatility and sheer love of art carried her series, Sprouted Chef. While Sprouted Chef airs episodes on a weekly basis, events like Monday's are incredibly valuable to maintaining viewership.

It’s slightly rare to see a cooking series successfully navigate the cross-market waters between painting and food dish creation. Myers’ approach, for this reason, is both bold and innovative. Myers has wanted to propose new seasonal concepts for some time—to both elevate her show and highlight Wynwood’s community. The event crossed a communication barrier many marketing approaches fail to surpass, and Myers ability to strike up conversations about her show, on their turf, is nothing short of extraordinarily creative.

Save the Date.  If you are a real estate professional, or someone just interested in learning more about South Florida's real estate then you'll want to make sure you're at this event.  The event has grown exponentially so much so that they have tripled the venue space in order to accommodate the attendees.  Here are a few more reasons you should be at The Real Deal's South Florida 3rd Annual Real Estate Showcase and Forum:

  •
  • The event is going to be huge, so The Real Deal plans to accommodate their guests at the beautiful SOHO Studios , our own venue which also happens to be Miami’s largest event space.  Situated in the Wynwood district, it is a one of a kind large event venue space designed to host functions from 150 to thousands.
  • All attendees will be privy to a full day of events including 4 Panels and great food & drinks compliments of local Miami merchants.
  • This year's event will host 4 Panels, 50 Developments, and 4,500 plus Prospects. You won't believe how much there is to see and do.
  • This not to be missed opportunity to network and expose your brand is so extraordinary that it sells out sponsorships every year.  Confirmed sponsor for this year's event include:

Douglas Elliman Real Estate, U.S. Immigration Fund, One/Southeby's International Realty, ArX Solutions, Meridian Capital Group, The Palms Residences, The Highlands, Jenn-Air, ALNO, Citi, Paramount Miami Worldcenter, Oneworld Properties, and Allure.

Lolë Sets Out to Create an Impactful Yogi Experience

Getting people into your product sometimes takes making a big show out of it. When done correctly, this gives thousands a chance to join in directly, while others get to feel like they're part of the action thanks to excellent camera work. Still others will find out about it because the "big show" was so big that it made it to television news. One brand that knows all about this is Lolë. It didn't run just one show, but instead, celebrated Yoga Week with 60 massive worldwide yoga sessions that included an average of 3,000 participants each. After that, it put the tour on the road and hit some key international cities. Needless to say, this made a giant splash across the world by engaging people – and media - in all of those places.

These weren't just regular yoga sessions that happened to be sponsored by Lolë. Instead, they were part of the Lolë White Tour, which was set up to be visually distinctive right from the start. At these events, all of the participants were asked to wear white. Officially, this is to symbolize peace. From a marketing perspective, of course, it makes the event unmistakable. A sea of people wearing white stands out both live and on TV. The company also handed out yellow yoga mats, so the color coordination continues all the way to the floor.

Of course, there is a good reason that Lolë chose yoga as the theme for its extravaganzas: One of the company's biggest product lines is yoga clothing. Plenty of white yoga outfits are for sale on their site so that those who get excited by the White Tour can get their own. Hosting giant yoga events also promotes yoga in general and makes people want to join in.

This is just one of the latest examples of what has come to be called experiential marketing. With this form of marketing, people don't just watch ads or see pictures of products. Instead, they join in on big, impactful events set up by the marketing company. Participants can number in the thousands, tens of thousands, or even more. This makes it so that a serious number of people are directly exposed to the brand, product, and the events themselves. From there, word-of-mouth will carry the marketing impact even further.

If your company is looking for a venue for its own experiential marketing extravaganza, check out Soho Studios in Miami, Florida. Our multiple event spaces are perfect for big events of various sizes, so you can be sure that you can fit a huge crowd inside. Whether you're planning one event or a multi-venue tour, make sure one of your stops is at Soho Studios!

Miami Swim Week 2016

There are always new and trendy events taking place in Miami and during the week of July 18, there was Miami Swim Week. This event has been running annually for a few years now, and is set amongst the trade show for swimwear. After all, where better to showcase all of the latest bikinis, tankinis, and one-pieces than near the beaches of Miami? Press and buyers alike flocked to Miami and the event took place for six fun-filled days of runways, dinners, and parties.

It was all about the parties at Miami Swim Week. There were a variety of organizations that brought a lineup of events to the schedule, such as Funkshion and Dive. There were other brands that also hosted some independent events, such as Monica Hansen and Camilla. There were even some larger companies that hosted lounges and poolside bungalows.

Runway shows typically ran for about an hour and a half, which allowed various designers to showcase what they had coming up in the world of swimwear. Some of the hosted dinners overshadowed the designs, simply because of the level of glamour and glitz given to them.

There’s one thing that was obvious throughout Swim Week: one pieces are always going to be a respectable option. So many people think that there is a trend moving away from the one piece. However, it was the one piece that was the big winner. They give off a “Baywatch vibe” according to Katharine Newman, who is one of the leaders behind Bikini.com.

Elle fashion magazine was present at Miami Swim Week 2016 and showed some of the latest styles that were presented. They also helped to define what a front was, something that has been released for a few years, though has not entirely caught on. A front is what looks like a leotard bottom and is a very high cut bikini. Some definite it as a thong for the front in terms of just how high cut it really is.

The swim industry plans to return to Miami once again in 2017. The city has a significant amount of relevance, particularly within luxury fashion. There will be many more runway shows appearing throughout the city and whether it is swimwear, cocktail dresses, or something else, the city will be happy to act as the host.

There are some amazing hotels and event spaces that are available throughout the Miami scene. This is what makes it all so exciting when there are events that come into the metropolitan city. Each one is capable of helping the event become a success, especially when organizers can come together to provide a phenomenal schedule that will keep everyone engaged throughout the time that they are there.

At Soho Studios, we get excited about local events, and we are excited about all the great events taking place in Miami during June for Miami Film Month. The entire month is packed with exciting things to do, and here are a few of the events you do not want to miss. Multiple film festivals are taking place during Miami Film Month, and from June 15-19, 2016 you will have the chance to check out the American Black Film Festival, which works to bring more awareness to entertainment content that’s made about and by individuals of African descent. Not only will you get the chance to enjoy the festival, but it’s also a great way to support equal opportunities for black artists within the film industry.

Whether you are a fan of critically acclaimed, internationally renowned, or independent films, local Miami art cinemas are showing something for everyone during the month of June, which we are thrilled to hear. To celebrate Miami Film Month, participating art cinemas are offering $8 films, which means you will want to take advantage of this deal and enjoy as many great films as possible. Participating cinemas include the Miami Beach Cinematheque, Bill Cosford Cinema, O Cinema Wynwood, Coral Gables Art Cinema, and MDC’s Tower Theater.

A huge part of Miami Film Month is the big video contest, and this year the contest is for videos that show off the multicultural culinary scene that we have so come to appreciate in Miami. Not only will William Vela, director of the Miami Short Film Festival, be critiquing the top videos, the winning video will be shown at the Miami Short Film Festival later, which takes place later in the year. Winners will also have their videos screened at the closing Miami Film Month event on June 30, 2016, which will take place at the Little Haiti Cultural Center.

Even the Perez Art Museum Miami is getting involved in the Miami Film Month action, featuring a special film installation that is being added to the museum’s permanent collection, Luanada-Kinshasa by Stan Douglas. This piece will not only be shown during the month of June, but throughout the entire summer in PAMM’s auditorium.

From exciting $8 films at local art cinemas to incredible film festivals, there is so much going on this month to celebrate Miami Film Month. We’re excited to get in on the action, and you’re sure to find an event you enjoy in the city this month.

What to Expect from Citi at Taste of the Nations

Hello June!  With the Taste of the Nation coming to Miami in less the two weeks,  we are hearing how the tour started out with a bang when recently hosted in New York City. Citi, one of the proud sponsors of the event, set up shop at this charitable event in April 2016 and offered amazing social experiences to its card carrying members who were lucky enough to have private passes. The bank then encouraged those who engaged in the event to take to social media to share their experiences.

The Appetizers

Citi's appetizers were mouthwatering but the way they were presented was perhaps even more noteworthy. The appetizer platters were suspended from helium balloons right near the check-in counter to entice people to want to come in and have a taste. Other white balloons were placed nearby and these turned blue as people got on their social media accounts to tell people about Citi's great food.

The Drinks

Well known mixologist Eamon Rocky served up some amazing Avion tequila "Tigritas" as guests enjoyed relaxing in the lounge. As guests enjoyed their drinks, they were able to charge their cell phones, check out the 60 inch touch screen display to find out more about Citi's dining platforms and talk to brand ambassadors. At the photo booth inside the space, guests were once again encouraged to take to social media to share photos of the event as the number of meals and amount of money donated to charity was dependent on social activity of those who participated in the event.

Other Goodies

Citi set up a unique social vending machine as part of the event. Guests who posted to their social media accounts while at the machine received Citi-branded goodies such as oven mitts, wine stoppers, wine pourers, aprons and a USB loaded with recipes for tasty treats.

Get in on the Action

Taste of the Nations is coming back to Miami on June 17, 2016 and we here at SOHO Studios are hosting the event!  It will offer tasty treats, exquisite beverages and an afterparty. The event is also being hosted by Emmy nominated weekend anchor Marybel Rodriguez and Froggy from Elvis Duran and the Morning Show. For now, we and Citi are keeping its Taste of the Nation plans to ourself; however, fans can see from Citi's April offerings that the company is sure to provide a night out Miami Style that you simply won't want to miss!

Check out South Florida's Taste of the Nation on Facebook and our Facebook page  for more photos and details of the event.
