"Ride On Rodeo" Kicks Off the Miami Homestead Championship

The Homestead Championship Rodeo kicks off its events with Ride On Rodeo, designed to bring together riders, event goers, sponsors and vendors in one venue. The rodeo is held January 23-25, 2016. This event will take place on January 22 to welcome everyone to the festivities. Designed to look like a rodeo, complete with fences and hay, vendors will have certain sections that will feature food and other items for sale, including saddles, boots and everything needed to become the perfect cowboy. Hosts and hostesses will be dressed as rodeo hands, directing guests throughout the venue.

There will be a grand main stage in the middle of the venue, with all the participants in the Miss Rodeo Homestead contest being introduced to the crowd. With much fanfare, these women will be serenaded by a local artist. Other performances will be scheduled featuring local artists with a variety of music. Children who have been entered into the Little Miss & Mr. HRA Pageant will also be introduced to the crowd.

All participants in the Rodeo Parade will also be able to come up and discuss their entries, how long it took them to put certain floats together, and what everyone can expect to see during the parade. A giant TV screen will be posted behind the main stage for highlights from the 2015 rodeo shown throughout the event.

Advanced tickets for this event are available online via the website for $20 for adults and $5 for children. These tickets are only available for one day of the event. Additional tickets must be purchased for each day.

Sponsors for 2015 include Spizter Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Homestead, The Big Cheese, Redland Animal Hospital, Robbies Feed Store, Dade County Farm Bureau, Best Western Florida City, Jessies Paint and Body, Ocean Reef Club, Harley Davidson, All State Insurance, and many more. Sponsorship opportunities for 2016 are still available.

The first Homestead Rodeo was held at Municipal Park on November 11, 1949, with the Homestead Rodeo Association being formed on February 1, 1959. This is one of the oldest annual professional sporting events in South Florida, and the only Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) in Miami-Dade County.

The PRCA is the largest and oldest rodeo-sanctioning body in the world; ensuring that every event is managed with fairness and competence, and the livestock used is healthy and cared for to the highest standards and can be considered the Super Bowl of Professional Rodeo.
